Our Courses
We offer 2 courses, a 2 year turf management certificate program and a 3 week turf management certificate program.
2 Year Benefits:
- Focused 10-week schedule. Each year, you work full-time for nine months and then spend 10 weeks on campus
- You study nothing but turf and management. That means no time on philosophy, or sociology, or art history. Your education here is "ruthlessly practical."
- Our focus. You’ll gain new skills and confidence as a manager and leader. You’ll learn how to manage people and projects — as well as plants.
- Our faculty. Your instructors make their living solving the toughest problems you face. You’ll learn from superintendents, plant diagnostic specialists, irrigation and turf consultants — and, of course, from the world-renown Rutgers faculty.
- Our students. You’ll be amazed to see how you grow together with your classmates. Each class shares more than 250 years of combined experience during an intense 10 weeks.
- Our alumni. Our graduates have come from 47 states and five continents, and Rutgers grads love to hire Rutgers grads first
3 Week Benefits:
- Develop a better understanding of the science behind the cultural practices used by golf course superintendents.
- Refine and improve your technical skills in the art of greenskeeping and golf course management.
- Learn to better manage your employees and communicate more effectively with your staff, your supervisors and your customers.
- Become familiar with the ongoing research and development of golf course turf and fine turf at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and learn how to use our libraries, soil and plant testing labs, and other outreach services to improve your productivity.
- Explore career opportunities in turf management and locate the job you’ve always wanted!
